Training Course on DESIGNING FOREST RESOURCE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM WITH CLIMATE CHANGE
ADAPTATION, VULNERABILITY ASSESSMENT AND
DISASTER RISK REDUCTION                                     

The course is equips forest managers with the state-of-the-art  forest resources management concepts, tools, methodologies and strategies in the context of changing climate and its impacts on forest ecosystems and local communities.

COURSE CONTENT

· Introduction to Climate Change-Adaptive to Forest Resource Management Planning
·  Climate Change-Adaptive Integrated Forest Resources Management Planning                                                        1. Tools for Assessing Vulnerability to Climate Change
2. Climate Change-Adaptive Forest Resources Management
· Study Tour to Selected Climate Change-Adaptive Forestry Projects in the Philippines
· Preparation of an Indicative Climate Change-Adaptive Forest Resource Management Plan

DURATION AND DATE
Four Weeks: 15 Oct. – 11 Nov. 2013

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
The course is designed for individuals working in forestry and related fields who want to acquire basic knowledge on tools and strategies for managing tropical forest ecosystems to mitigate and adapt to climate change.

THINGS  TO BRING
Participants must bring hard and electronic copies of their country’s climate change data relevant to forestry (e.g. statistics and maps).

COURSE FEE
The course fee is US$4,000 inclusive of costs of tuition, training-related field/visits, supplies and materials, minimal group accident insurance and conveyance from and to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila. Payment of course fee should be made on or before the start of the course. Participant and/or sponsor should shoulder the following expenses:

a. Transportation from and to the participant’s point of departure to the Philippines, airport fees, passport and visa;
b. Daily subsistence allowance (DSA) for meals, lodging and other incidental expenses for the entire duration of the meeting.
