Training Course on GEOMATICS FOR IMPROVED
DECISION-MAKING IN NATURAL RESOURCES MANAGEMENT AND ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN
The course deals with set of technologies designed for data acquisition, analysis and decision-making including geographic information systems (GIS), remote sensing (RS)
and global navigation satellite systems (GNSS).
COURSE CONTENT
· Preparation of Comprehensive Land Use Plan
· GIS-Based Watershed Management Planning
· Application to Disaster Risk Reduction, Climate Change Adaptation and Vulnerability Assessment
DURATION AND DATE
Four Weeks: 03 Sept. – 30 Sept. 2013
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
The training course is designed for personnel from natural resource organizations and related agencies who have basic knowledge on GIS.
THINGS TO BRING
Participants must bring local maps (topography, land-use, etc).
COURSE FEE
The course fee is US$4,000 inclusive of costs of tuition, training-related field/visits, supplies and materials, minimal group accident insurance and conveyance from and to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila. Payment of course fee should be made on or before the start of the course. Participant and/or sponsor should shoulder the following expenses:
a. Transportation from and to the participant’s point of departure to the Philippines, airport fees, passport and visa;
b. Daily subsistence allowance (DSA) for meals, lodging and other incidental expenses for the entire duration of the meeting.
