Training Course on AGROFORESTRY FOR CLIMATE CHANGE ADAPTATION AND SUSTAINABLE RURAL LIVELIHOODS

The course equips participants with the knowledge and skills in planning, designing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating agroforestry models/systems that are adaptive to global climate change, enhancing  biodiversity conservation, and providing entrepreneurial sources of livelihood.

· Agroforestry Systems for Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation
· Enhancing Support Systems for Agroforestry as a Climate Change Adaptation Strategy
· Planning, Monitoring and Evaluating Agroforestry Projects for Climate Change
· Field Practicum
· Action/Re-entry Plan for an Agroforestry Project

DURATION AND DATE
Four Weeks: 09 July – 05 Aug 2013

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Mid-level managers of non government organizations (NGOs), People’s organizations (POs), TechnicalOfficers of government agencies and local government units who are doing agroforestry work but are not technically trained on agroforestry as well as extension and upland development workers implementing agroforestry development works.

THINGS TO BRING
Agroforestry project data – Maps (project area, topography, slope, soil and vegetation) and other related information/materials necessary for the preparation of indicative plans.

COURSE FEE
The course fee is US$4,000 inclusive of costs of tuition, training-related field/visits, supplies and materials, minimal group accident insurance and conveyance from and to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila. Payment of course fee should be made on or before the start of the course. Participant and/or sponsor should shoulder the following expenses:
a. Transportation from and to the participant’s point of departure to the Philippines, airport fees, passport and visa;

b. Daily Subsistence Allowance (DSA) for meals, lodging and other incidental expenses for the entire duration of the meeting.
